Snake Surge — Support

Need help, found a bug, or want to report a leaderboard name?
Email lukeswade@gmail.com. Snake Surge is made by one person; you will get a reply from the developer, usually within a couple of days.
Helpful to include: which platform (web or iOS), which game mode, and what you expected to happen. Screenshots or screen recordings are very welcome.
Playing the game
How do I steer?
On a touchscreen, tap on either side of the snake's path to turn toward that side, or swipe in any direction. With a keyboard, use WASD or the arrow keys. Quick successive inputs are queued, so you can chain corners.
What is the Surge meter?
Every bite charges it. At 100%, tap the lightning button (lower right) or press Space for a Hyper-Surge: brief invincibility, wall-phasing and slow motion.
How does the death-rewind work?
In Merge & Surge mode, if you crash while holding at least 50% Surge, a Crash Imminent prompt appears. Tap Reverse Time (or press R) to spend that Surge and rewind a few seconds, then keep playing. Classic Survival has no Surge meter and no rewind by design.
What do the modes mean?
- Merge & Surge — the full game. Three matching body segments fuse into one higher-tier segment; combos, power-ups and the rewind are all here.
- Classic Survival — pure retro snake. One food, no assists.
- PvP Blitz — 60 seconds against two computer-controlled snakes.

Sound and haptics
The soundtrack is generated live, so it starts after your first tap. If you hear nothing, check the volume slider in the menu (the hamburger icon, top right). On iPhone, the Ring/Silent switch also mutes the game. Haptics can be turned off in your device's Settings.
The global leaderboard
How do I post a score?
After a run in any mode, the game-over card offers a name field the first time. Type up to 16 characters and tap Go Global. After that, new personal bests post automatically under the same name. One entry per name is kept, always your best.
How do I change my name?
Your name is stored on your device. To pick a new one, clear the game's data: on the web, clear site data for snake.lukewade.net; on iOS, delete and reinstall the app. Your local high scores are cleared too, so back up anything you care about first.
How do I remove my entry, or report someone else's name?
Email lukeswade@gmail.com with the name and the mode. Removal requests are honoured on request. Names are filtered automatically at submission; if something objectionable slips through, tell us and it will be taken down and the filter tightened.
Offline play and data
The whole game ships in the app and works with no connection. Only the global leaderboard needs the network, and only when you choose to post a score. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Full details are in the privacy policy.
